Good Fairies of New York

The Good Fairies of New York, Martin Millar The Good Fairies of New Yorkby Martin MillarIntroduction by Neil Gaiman!I was given this book by a friend as a Christmas gift. She has apparently bought like, three copies of the novel so far and has yet to read it herself! It's quite the popular gift it seems. I am about three quarters of the way through  (I think) and I am still not entirely sure what I think about it. I find the story very Christopher Moore-ish (and he's a literary genius!) and I think it jumps around a little too much for me to be able to keep track of what the heck is going on. I love the humour and the writing style, but I don't know what I think of the plot.I'm not entirely sure I know what the plot is, to be honest. So, there are these two Scottish fairies, right? Heather and Morag and they each seem to be living with a human, Dinni, an overweight loser kind of guy and Kerry an artist with Chrohn's disease. Hilarity and confusion ensue. Not sure if the confusion is intentional or if it's just me.There are other fairies as well, some hunting other and some just hanging out.I can only read this story in short bursts, not because I don't like it (unlike some other books out there) but more because I can only take in so much of what's going on at once! I hope to have the book finished this weekend since I now have a nice little pile o' books to tackle thanks to Christmas and Monkey's bookshelf!I should keep SOME books aside for my quickly approaching vacation to Disney World in 28 days! I will need reading material on the plane and for the night time going to bed thing.
